We are EcoConnect. Our platform helps companies to sell or donate products they otherwise can't — like items close to expiration, with damaged packaging, or minor defects — to individuals and non-profits.
Through our app, our companies can generate additional revenue by selling excess inventory. Our business takes a 10% commission of these earnings which gradually decreases with the amount of sold goods.
We made a research on the international market regarding this topic and our finding were the following:
60% of shoppers care about buying sustainably, and 34% would even pay more for it.
Millennials and Gen Z are especially interested in discounted, sustainable products.
Several players in the market provide similar solutions (e.g., green stores, Munch), but everyone often focuses on specific products like food. We specialize in electronics and household items.
Discover opportunities that drive innovation and deliver sustainable growth with us!
At first we were planning to sell goods in many product categories, but after seeing the results of the desktop research and consulting with our mentor we came to the conclusion that we should focus on one specific product category.
We decided to choose this path because our competitors also focus on one category and if we succeed with our chosen field we can always just expand from that point on.
Insights gathered from our user research to guide our strategy.
More than two-thirds of people already buy discounted or slightly defective products and are happy with them, which aligns with international data.
Popular categories are electronics, appliances, and furniture.
80% would buy damaged items if they still work and are cheaper.
